Location: Pakistan Arrested: June 2009 Print Fact Sheet Asia Bibi, a 37-year-old Pakistani woman from the village of Ittanwali, was arrested by police on Friday, June 19, and faces possible blasphemy charges. Asia is the wife of 50-year-old Ashiq Masih, and their family is one of only three Christian families in a village of more than 1,500 families. Many of the local women work on the farm of Muslim landowner Muhammad Idrees, including Asia. During their work many of the Muslim women have pressured Asia to renounce Christianity and accept Islam. In June, the pressure became especially strong. On Friday, June 19, there was an intense discussion among the women about their faith, with the Muslim women telling Asia about Islam. Asia responded by telling them about her faith in Christ. Asia told the Muslim women Christ had died on the cross for our sins, then asked them what Mohammed had done for them, according to VOM sources. She told them Jesus is alive, but Mohammed is dead. “Our Christ is the true prophet of God,” she reportedly told them, “and yours is not true.” Upon hearing this response the Muslim women became angry and began to beat Asia Bibi. Then some men came and took her and locked her in a room. They announced from mosque loudspeakers that she would be punished by having her face blackened and being paraded through the village on a donkey. Local Christians informed the police, who took Asia into custody before the Muslims could carry out their plan. She is currently being held at the police station in Nankana city. Christians there urged the police not to file blasphemy charges, but police claimed that they must go forward due to pressure from local Muslim leaders. The Voice of the Martyrs urges Christians around the world to pray for Asia Bibi and her family. Rescue Mission in India - SOS - please help!

Indian Rescue Mission

This very worthwhile mission regularly rescues children from bonded labour and enforced prostitution

Greetings to you from Indian Rescue Mission. First of all my sincere thanks to all who pray for our ministry and for the rescue mission.

Please pray for God’s provision for the rehabilitation of these children. To take an after care home on rent for these children takes Rs. 5000 (US $ 120). If any one is interested to support us monthly we can start an After Care home and by doing we can provide them education, medical support and counseling.

We need to provide rescue kits for rescued girls with 2 pair of clothes, soap, toothpaste, brush, powder, oil, sanitary pads and other stuff initially. So please be kind enough to sponsor at least one girl monthly. We will send you the picture of the girl whom you are sponsoring and keep you informed about the developments.

Please pray for sponsors to come forward to keep this work going. We have a huge expenditure in this project. As I informed earlier, we need around Rs.50, 000 (US $ 1200) to run this project and do a rescue operation. Now we are receiving US $ 265 from 2 different people. But we sincerely urge our readers to help us with your generous support for this cause.

Prayerfully Consider for a Small Christmas love gift for the rescued girls in India.

Greetings to you from Indian Rescue Mission.

We were supposed to go for a rescue this week. But we have not received the funds yet from our Partner Organization Equip Nepal. As International money transfers is not very easy. So we are praying and waiting for it to arrive.

I want to thank those of you that have been able to help Indian Rescue Mission to rescue innocent lives from the trap of forced prostitution from several parts of India.

By doing this, you have joined hands with Indian Rescue Mission in bringing Justice to these young girls. I believe we fall into the center of God’s will when we take the take the bold step in supporting this noble cause. By doing this, we become their voice in speaking against Injustice happening on them.

Once again my sincere thanks to all who have supported this ministry so far financially and in prayers. So for those who are reading this, who have not been able to help us, please prayerfully consider joining our support team. Each gift is tax deductible and a tax receipt will be issued to the donors.

So I Pray and believe that God will raise more supporters for His work in India in the coming days.

One of main intentions of our rescue ministry is not just to rescue these girls but we want to make them know that we are doing this in the Love for God. We want to make them know that Jesus loves them and He has a perfect plan for them.

So as we are getting closer to the season of Christmas, a very special time for those who love the Lord. So Indian Rescue Mission is planning to provide these girls a pair of clothes, a small gift and a Christmas dinner on the day of Christmas. By this we want to express our love by saying to them that God loves them and He has a special place in His heart for them. Most of these rescued girls whom we have rescued are Hindus.

So I request you, being partners of Indian rescue Mission to please consider sending a support for these girls as a Christmas gift. Even the least donations will be accepted and respected. If unable to give financially, then you can send some good clothes or some gifts to these girls in India.

Affected by floods - home never replaced!

The Smith Family

This living situation has has been going on for 13 & 1/2 years since our house was severly destroyed by water.  We have had to live in all sorts of living conditions including living in tents in our own backyard and sometimes living in our car. Our house has toxic mold in it and it makes us sick.  We are trying to keep our faith strong, but it is getting harder everyday as nothing seems to be happening to resolve this situation.  It is especially hard for me to explain to my children (I have 4 children) that God is going to come through for us when they don't see any positive movement after all this time.  I don't want them to lose faith in Our Lord.  We have had MANY people including  T.V. shows give us hope that they are going to help us, but then they don't do anything.  We are having let down after let down and it is so depressing.  We are beginning to wonder if we will ever get out of this situation.  Our two cats are still living at the house and we have to travel a 30m round trip to see them every day and feed them.  There is little money for food.  We can't see how our house can ever be fixed.  Thank you for your prayers.  God bless you.

Beloved, I am Sister Y.Rajini Kumari residing in Karumuru Village which is located near to Repalle Mandal, Guntur Dist. INDIA. I would like to share my witness which the Lord Did in my Life Briefly, I studied up to +2, Both my parents are agricultural labours when I am 6 months child I suffered from Heart Problems, my parents took me to many doctors for cure. The Doctor says that there is no use with the medicine, but my parents spend each and every rupee which they earn for my medical expenses. Even they owed for my health but those medicines were not making me healthy. Under all these condition I was grown to 12 years. But on the 13th year my health was severed, so a nominal operation was done to me with the price of 2 lakhs, but the use was nothing. Finally my parents left me in the Church do to the service for the Lord from that day. My Parents prayed for me to use for his Service. I too committed to the Service of the Lord, if he keeps be alive. Miracle, when I am serving the Lord, there is no pain in my heart, I sing songs, I teach kids many action songs etc, but there is no pain or any problems in my health. With this encouragement I was baptized and Trained in Gospel for Asia Bible College for 3 Year in Bible training.

Where I was depressed there I would like to serve the Lord, but none was came forward to marry me, because of my Heart problem. But I give my Life for the Lord, so I am caring 20 children by educating them both physically and spiritually. Please pray for me and for 20 children for their caring and the will of the Lord should come in the lives of us. I would like to work with you through you we can do wonderful activities in INDIA. I wanted you to be blessed, it’s my prayer concept. I warmly invite you to Be a part in my ministry in INDIA. If the Lord wills, I would like to establish a Bible college in our area. Greetings in the mighty name of our lord. I am sending one SAD news to you through this mail. Today one of my believer passed away because she got electrical current shock. You know we are affected with floods. She went to bring some food for her children on the way she got shocked. The power line cut and drop in the water. She didn't see that wire in the water. When she was entering into water she got shocked and immediately she was dead. She is having two children. They are very poor. Please send your help to them. I am very sad and I am requesting you send some immediate help for her funeral. They lost everything in floods.

This little orphanage with very few workers and lots of real needs could really do with your help right now.  Here is a message from the pastor:

Greetings in the wonderful name of our lord and real Savior Jesus Christ. I hope you are fine by the grace of our lord. Here we all are in very bad situation.  We are affected with floods. Our Repalle town also affected with floods and water came into my home up to shoulder level. Water was there 10 feet on roads. We don’t have anything to eat and drink. Our government was distribute food and water packets once a day. That was not sufficient for our children and us. We are very sad like anything. We lost everything except our lives. We don’t have roof and we don’t have sufficient blankets to save from snow. Many people send relief funds to our government but not us. We did not receive anything from government except food and water. We don’t have power to since three days. We received power just now. So, I want to intimate you with emergency. I saw just news in TV just now; they said that water will go out another 4 to 5 days. After that we have clean our houses and church. I think lot of mud came into houses. Please pray for us and send us at least used blankets and clothes. Please pray for them in your daily prayers.
